Free Web Design Tutorials: Adding a Page Using Our Editor

The Digi Donkey website editor was designed to be as user friendly as possible. Here's a step by step guide for adding a page to your website using our website editor.

Step 1: Click "Add New Page"

Click "Add New Page".

Here is the Add a Page screen.

Step 2: Type in a unique Page ID. * This is mandatory.

Click here for a tutorial on creating a page ID.

Your page ID can not have any spaces in between the words. Use dashes.

Step 3: Type in a label for your button. * This is mandatory.

What you type here is what will appear on your website's menu bar.

Step 4: Click the Meta Tags "Open" link.

Click the "Open" link to access your Meta Tags editor.

Step 5: Enter a title for your page. Not mandatory but highly recommended.

Your title should explain the content of the page in 1 sentence. This is what will show in your search engine listing.

Step 6: Enter a description for your page. Not mandatory but highly recommended.

You should describe the content of your page within 3 sentences or less. This will show in your search engine listing.

Step 7: Type in 7 keywords or less.

Your keywords should be made up of words that actually apear within the text of the web page. Keep it to 7 or less.

Step 8: Click the Page Content "Open" link.

Click the "Open" link to access your Page Content editor.

This is the page editor. Just begin to type like your are typing an email. Use the tools in the editor's menu bar to style your text, add photos and add links.

Step 9: Enter in your page content and click "Submit" when you are done.

When you have successfully added a page you will see this screen. Click "return to Admin Area" to return to the Admin page.

Your new page will show up in the editor. Click "Delete" to get rid of it or "Edit" to reopen the editor.
